The minimum distance, S, from the nearest actuator to the hazard zone shall be calculated using Equation:
S=(K×T)+C
Where:
K: 1600 mm/s
C: 250 mm
The Standard prescribes that C may be 0 only if the risk of encroachment of the hands or part of the hands towards the hazard zone is eliminated while the actuator is being operated and if the minim allowable distance for S is ≥ 100 mm.
