L&rsquo;\u00e9quipement doit tol\u00e9rer une superposition de tension jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 10 % de la tension alternative nominale et 15 % pour la tension continue. Il doit \u00e9galement g\u00e9rer des fluctuations de fr\u00e9quence comprises entre 95 % et 105 % de la fr\u00e9quence nominale. Des dispositions diff\u00e9rentes peuvent \u00eatre n\u00e9cessaires pour les installations de service.
