Elle d\u00e9finit les crit\u00e8res essentiels permettant d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer les risques d&rsquo;inflammation.<br \/>\nElle donne des conseils sur les param\u00e8tres de conception et de contr\u00f4le qui peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour r\u00e9duire un tel danger. Des crit\u00e8res g\u00e9n\u00e9raux et sp\u00e9ciaux sont donn\u00e9s pour l&rsquo;identification et de <strong>classification des zones dangereuses.<\/strong><br \/>\nParmi les nouveaut\u00e9s introduites dans la norme ATEX figurent des orientations sur les m\u00e9langes hybrides (annexe C). Un m\u00e9lange hybride est un m\u00e9lange d&rsquo;un gaz ou d&rsquo;une vapeur inflammable et d&rsquo;un gaz combustible ou d&rsquo;une poussi\u00e8re combustible. Ce m\u00e9lange hybride peut se comporter diff\u00e9remment du gaz\/de la vapeur ou de la poussi\u00e8re pris s\u00e9par\u00e9ment. Un m\u00e9lange hybride peut former une atmosph\u00e8re explosive en dehors des limites d&rsquo;explosivit\u00e9 du gaz\/de la vapeur ou des concentrations explosives des poussi\u00e8res prises individuellement. Il est recommand\u00e9 de consid\u00e9rer qu&rsquo;un m\u00e9lange hybride est explosif si la concentration du gaz\/de la vapeur d\u00e9passe 25 % de la LIE du gaz\/de la vapeur.<\/p>\n<p>Les dangers pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par les poussi\u00e8res sont les suivants :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La formation d&rsquo;un nuage de poussi\u00e8res \u00e0 partir de n&rsquo;importe quelle source de lib\u00e9ration, y compris une couche ou une accumulation, pour former une atmosph\u00e8re explosive de poussi\u00e8res ;<\/li>\n<li>La formation de couches de poussi\u00e8res, qui ne sont pas susceptibles de former un nuage de poussi\u00e8res, mais qui peuvent s&rsquo;enflammer par auto-\u00e9chauffement ou par exposition \u00e0 des surfaces chaudes ou \u00e0 un flux thermique et provoquer un risque d&rsquo;incendie ou de surchauffe de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipement. La couche enflamm\u00e9e peut \u00e9galement servir de source d&rsquo;inflammation pour une atmosph\u00e8re explosive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>a) La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer si le mat\u00e9riau est combustible et, aux fins de l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation des sources d&rsquo;inflammation, \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer les caract\u00e9ristiques du mat\u00e9riau. Des param\u00e8tres tels que la taille des particules, la teneur en humidit\u00e9, la temp\u00e9rature minimale d&rsquo;inflammation du nuage et de la couche et la r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique doivent \u00eatre pris en compte. Le groupe de poussi\u00e8res appropri\u00e9, \u00e0 savoir le groupe IIIA pour les envols combustibles, le groupe IIIB pour les poussi\u00e8res non conductrices ou le groupe IIIC pour les poussi\u00e8res conductrices, doit \u00eatre identifi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>b) La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape consiste \u00e0 identifier les \u00e9quipements susceptibles de contenir des m\u00e9langes de poussi\u00e8res explosives ou des sources de d\u00e9gagement de poussi\u00e8res. Il peut s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer n\u00e9cessaire de consulter les diagrammes de processus et les plans d&rsquo;am\u00e9nagement de l&rsquo;usine.
