Ajout\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 la norme lors de l&rsquo;\u00e9laboration de la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9dition de la norme UL 508A, le suppl\u00e9ment SA a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour fournir des conseils sur la s\u00e9lection et l&rsquo;application des composants utilis\u00e9s dans les panneaux de commande industriels.<\/p>\n<p>Ce suppl\u00e9ment constituait une ressource compl\u00e8te permettant d&rsquo;identifier les cat\u00e9gories de composants pouvant \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s dans les panneaux de commande industriels sur la base de leur certification UL existante. Le suppl\u00e9ment SA s&rsquo;appuyait sur les cat\u00e9gories de produits et les exigences de certification UL \u00e9tablies, permettant ainsi aux fabricants de panneaux de s\u00e9lectionner en toute confiance des composants certifi\u00e9s sans avoir \u00e0 proc\u00e9der \u00e0 des investigations, \u00e9valuations ou essais suppl\u00e9mentaires de ces composants lorsqu&rsquo;ils \u00e9taient utilis\u00e9s dans le cadre de leur certification.<\/p>\n<p>En regroupant ces informations dans un document unique, le suppl\u00e9ment SA a simplifi\u00e9 la s\u00e9lection des composants et fourni une m\u00e9thodologie coh\u00e9rente pour d\u00e9terminer l&rsquo;acceptabilit\u00e9 des composants utilis\u00e9s dans les panneaux de commande industriels. Au fil du temps, il est devenu l&rsquo;une des ressources les plus fr\u00e9quemment consult\u00e9es au sein du programme UL 508A et un outil inestimable tant pour les fabricants de panneaux que pour les fournisseurs de composants.<\/p>\n<p>Un changement majeur est survenu avec la publication de la troisi\u00e8me \u00e9dition de la norme UL 508A en 2018. Cette \u00e9dition est devenue la premi\u00e8re version de la norme UL 508A \u00e0 \u00eatre reconnue comme norme nationale am\u00e9ricaine (ANSI). Dans le cadre du processus d&rsquo;accr\u00e9ditation ANSI, certains contenus figurant dans le suppl\u00e9ment SA ne pouvaient plus rester dans la norme elle-m\u00eame. Les proc\u00e9dures de l&rsquo;ANSI n&rsquo;autorisent pas les normes nationales am\u00e9ricaines \u00e0 contenir une terminologie ou des exigences propres au programme de certification d&rsquo;un organisme d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation de la conformit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifique, y compris les exigences imposant l&rsquo;utilisation de composants certifi\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En cons\u00e9quence, le contenu du Suppl\u00e9ment SA a \u00e9t\u00e9 retir\u00e9 du corps de la norme et transf\u00e9r\u00e9 dans une publication UL distincte. Ce contenu a d&rsquo;abord \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9 sous la forme de l&rsquo;annexe informative C de la troisi\u00e8me \u00e9dition de la norme UL 508A, avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9 vers une ressource en ligne d\u00e9di\u00e9e d&rsquo;UL Solutions. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, le Suppl\u00e9ment SA est g\u00e9r\u00e9 par UL Solutions sous la direction de l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur principal charg\u00e9 de la norme UL 508A.<\/p>\n<p>Le document continue d&rsquo;\u00eatre mis \u00e0 jour \u00e0 mesure que les technologies \u00e9voluent et que de nouvelles cat\u00e9gories de composants font leur apparition sur le march\u00e9. Le suppl\u00e9ment SB a \u00e9tabli une m\u00e9thode normalis\u00e9e pour d\u00e9terminer l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 de court-circuit admissible (SCCR) des panneaux de commande industriels.<\/p>\n<p>Avant la publication du suppl\u00e9ment SB, la d\u00e9termination du SCCR d&rsquo;un panneau de commande industriel sur mesure n\u00e9cessitait souvent des essais approfondis ou un jugement technique, ce qui entra\u00eenait des m\u00e9thodes et des valeurs nominales incoh\u00e9rentes dans l&rsquo;ensemble du secteur. Parall\u00e8lement, les codes d&rsquo;installation \u00e9lectrique et les autorit\u00e9s d&rsquo;inspection accordaient une importance croissante aux valeurs nominales de court-circuit. Cette attention a finalement abouti \u00e0 l&rsquo;inclusion des exigences relatives au SCCR des panneaux de commande industriels dans l&rsquo;article 409 de l&rsquo;\u00e9dition 2011 du National Electrical Code (NEC).<\/p>\n<p>Le suppl\u00e9ment SB a r\u00e9pondu \u00e0 ce d\u00e9fi en fournissant une m\u00e9thodologie d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie pratique pour d\u00e9terminer le SCCR des panneaux \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;une combinaison de :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>des combinaisons de composants test\u00e9es<\/li>\n<li>des caract\u00e9ristiques de limitation de courant des dispositifs de protection<\/li>\n<li>Une analyse des circuits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s<\/li>\n<li>La coordination des dispositifs de protection contre les surintensit\u00e9s<\/li>\n<li>Des courants de court-circuit nominaux des composants individuels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La m\u00e9thodologie a fourni un processus coh\u00e9rent et reproductible pouvant \u00eatre appliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 une large gamme de conceptions de panneaux de commande industriels sur mesure. Cela a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une avanc\u00e9e majeure pour l&rsquo;industrie, permettant aux fabricants de d\u00e9terminer les valeurs SCCR des panneaux de commande sans avoir besoin de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 des essais de court-circuit complets sur l&rsquo;ensemble du panneau pour presque toutes les conceptions et configurations de panneaux de commande.<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00e9thodologie du suppl\u00e9ment SB a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e en r\u00e9ponse aux pr\u00e9occupations croissantes des inspecteurs \u00e9lectriques et des utilisateurs concernant le courant de d\u00e9faut disponible et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un marquage coh\u00e9rent du SCCR sur les panneaux de commande sur mesure. La compr\u00e9hension de cette lacune critique en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 explique pourquoi le suppl\u00e9ment SB est devenu un ajout aussi transformateur \u00e0 la norme UL 508A, fournissant \u00e0 l&rsquo;industrie une m\u00e9thode uniforme pour d\u00e9terminer le SCCR (courant nominal de court-circuit) des panneaux.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;ajout du suppl\u00e9ment SB a consid\u00e9rablement influenc\u00e9 la conception, la documentation et la certification des panneaux de commande industriels.
