In the chapter 4.9<\/span><\/strong> it’s treated the argument of explosions<\/strong> and the standard reports the following prescriptions:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

“Spray booths shall be equipped with forced ventilation to limit the concentration of flammable substances below the specified percentage of LEL.<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The required air flow shall be monitored.<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

An interface shall be provided to enable the interlocking of the forced ventilation with<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • The spray application and<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n
  • The high voltage supply of electrostatic application equipment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The standard imposes the limit concentration values<\/strong> of flammable substances for explosive protection:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    • For spray booths for liquid coating material, the flammable substances concentration shall be limited to 50% <\/span><\/strong>of LEL for automatic spray booths and 25%<\/span><\/strong> of LEL for manual spray booths.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • For spray booths, the flammable substances concentration shall be limited to 50% <\/span><\/strong>of LEL.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
