severity of any injury as indicated by the risk assessment; &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Intended use of the machine;<\/li>\n<li>Foreseeable misure and defeat of the guards;<\/li>\n<li>Hazards present at the machine;<\/li>\n<li>Nature and frequency of access.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>            <\/div>\n        \n        \n                <div class=\"clear-both\"><\/div>\n        \n\n    \n        \n                    <div class=\"relative w-full\">\n                \n<div class=\"a-text font-text text-base normal mt-8 first:mt-0 space-y-4\">\n    <p><strong>6.4<\/strong> The Standard provides requirements for the selection of guards according to the mature and frequency of access required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Where access is not required during use, fixed guards should be used; [6.4.3];&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Where access is required (for machine setting, process correction or maintenance) it shall be used:&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;a)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Movable guard, if the foreseeable frequency of access is high (more than once per week)<br \/>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;b)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Fixed guard, if the foreseeable frequency of access is low (less than once per week)<br \/><strong>The choice between these two types depends on the frequency of access to the area [6.4.4.1].<\/strong>&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>            <\/div>\n        \n        \n                <div class=\"clear-both\"><\/div>\n        \n\n    <\/div>\n        <\/section>\n\n
