For each cycle of a machinery noise source, the noise level can be measured just as for continuous noise.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0cm 0cm 8pt\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"color:#1a1a1a\"><span style=\"line-height:18.75pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b>IMPULSIVE NOISE: <\/b>The noise from impacts or explosions, for example the ones produced by pile drivers or mechanical presses, is called impulsive noise. It is brief and abrupt, and its startling effect causes greater annoyance than would be expected from a simple measurement of sound pressure level.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0cm 0cm 8pt\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"color:#1a1a1a\"><span style=\"line-height:18.75pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b>LOW FREQUENCY NOISE: <\/b>Noise of this kind is typical for large diesel engines since the noise is hard to muffle and spreads easily in all directions.
