Machinery Safety in Canada: Main Reference Technical standards and Codes

For Machineries to be sold in Canada the first edition of a new standard was published in December 2016.
At the moment, Italian manufacturer who sell to North America have UL508A as the main reference. In Canada, C22.2 N°14 and C22.2 N°286 should also be followed: in particular, C22.2 N°14 is the reference standard for the Industrial Panel (ICP) Program. In the future the standard will become C22.2 N°301.

In Italy the equivalent standard is derived from IEC 60364 and is called CEI 64-8. Based upon the CE Code, each canadian province publish its own electrial standard or Amendments to that main reference.
